As I read the material for the annual dance the Edge Festival, a work in particular stands out: Quiet Zaide Arkadi. He was on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the increasing violence and distrust between the two sides. In the world of dance, it is rare for work to take on such a "political" story so clearly. Apparently it is also rare in Israel for the dance to do something, but the skirt around the unfolding tragedy.
What also intrigued me was the photo above. It shows four dancers in the work (Zaidi dance choreographer also in it) in front of a single framework. The assembly is Klone, a graffiti artist whose work is seen near Tel Aviv. I liked the beaks of birds and strange skulls in the background. Even if they looked like they were part of the background, they have managed to push to the forefront - as dominant political and military issue in Israel.
