In just one week, a Soddy-Daisy man will climb Mount Fuji. He says it's all to raise money for local tornado victims, as well as earthquake victims in Japan.
James Hughes, 28, has been living in Japan since last August. When the earthquake hit the country, he made plans to climb Mount Fuji in order to raise money for the victims. Then, on April 27th, tornadoes struck his hometown.
His mom says that's when he decided to help both of his homes. "When I told him what was going on here, and he found out about all that, he decided it would be good to split it between the two," said Ernestein Perkey, James' mother.
